The Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (EBEF) is the institution of higher education with the best evaluation in the General Index of Courses (IGC) of Brazil. Achieving 5 maximum points and a total of 487 points on a scale to 500, had the highest score of all courses in the country.
Four other schools in the Getulio Vargas Foundation are also among the 25 institutions that had grade 5 at IGC calculated by the Ministério da Educação – MEC (Ministry of Education), for 2009, the Law School of São Paulo – (Direito GV), the School of Business Administration of São Paulo (EAESP), the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) and the School of Economics in São Paulo (EESP).
The IGC is calculated from the performance of students in Enade (National Examination Performance of Students), evaluation of graduate programs by CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) and also takes into account the titles of the body teaching, teaching resources and plans and students' perceptions in relation to infrastructure.
