FGV professor and alumnus takes office as Brazilian secretary for economic policy

The former student of EPGE Masters in Economics (class of 1986) and Professor of EPGE, Afonso Arinos de Mello Franco Neto, was appointed as the new Secretary for Economic Policy. Afonso Arinos will be part of the Ministry of Finance, headed by the former Professor and student from EPGE, Joaquim Levy. The announcement took place in Brasilia in the afternoon of Monday, January 5, 2015, during the Finance Minister Joaquim Levy tenure ceremony.

In addition to Levy and Arinos, Marcelo Neri, Professor of EPGE, remains as Strategic Affairs Minister in the new government of President Dilma Rousseff.
