EPGE faculty and students obtained 1st place in 3 of the 5 categories of the SBE 2020 Award

EPGE professors Cezar Santos and Humberto Moreira and doctoral students Gustavo Freire and Luiz Brotherhood obtained 1st place in 3 of the 5 categories of the SBE Award, promoted by the Brazilian Society of Econometrics.

The SBE Award is awarded annually to the best articles presented at the Brazilian Econometrics Meeting (EBE), divided into 5 categories: Econometrics, Finance, Applied Macroeconomics, Applied Microeconomics and Economic Theory

At the 42nd EBE, which took place in December 2020, FGV EPGE teachers and students obtained 1st place in the 3 categories as follows:

  • Finance
    1st place: “Minimum Dispersion Risk-Neutral Measures and Asset Prices in Incomplete Markets”
                     Caio Almeida (Princeton University) e Gustavo Freire (FGV EPGE)

  • Applied Macroeconomics
    1st place: “Slums and Pandemics"
                     Luiz Brotherhood (Universitat de Barcelona, BEAT & FGV EPGE), Tiago Cavalcanti (University of Cambridge and FGV EESP), Daniel da Mata (FGV EESP) e Cezar Santos (Banco de Portugal, FGV EPGE & CEPR)

  • Economic Theory
    1st place: “Risk Classification in Insurance Markets with Risk and Preference Heterogeneity”
